What the students say

It's all based on the course and where you want to do it really. This is actually my 3rd choice on the CAO. My 2nd choice was Medicinal Chemistry in Trinity. To be honest, as I read the word "UCD" on my CAO letter I was slightly disappointed. Looking through the pictures on the prospectus I wanted to be part of Trinity society, I wanted to be able to tell people, "Yeah I went to Trinity". In school I always thought Trinity was such an outstanding college with an excellent reputation for its academic pupils in their great black graduation gowns. The more I learn the differences between UCD and Trinity, there more I am delighted to say, "I study in UCD". I learnt that UCD don't do Christmas and summer exams in summer, as in the case of Trinity. UCD calculates your grades in a GPA systematic way, whereas Trinity gives you the standard percentage mark. UCD has an online registration, Trinity does it the old-fashioned way where you have to meet the person face-to-face. UCD allows you to choose Elective Modules for you to learn something different outside your course, there is no option to do this in Trinity. However, I have to get 2 buses to UCD and if I were to attend Trinity I would get the Dart. All in all, aware yourself before deciding these two rivalry colleges. The above pointers may not effect everyone but it may effect some.

Advice: Try and get involved in some sort of society/club I'd recommend UCD as a college because there are a wide range of facilities and it's easy to get to!
