Why did you choose to study this course?

For the Leaving Cert., English and Art were may favourite and best subjects so when it came to college I chose an English course to further my knowledge of English literature and to learn how to write to an academic standard.

Are you happy with your choice of course?

Yes, I believe I made the right choice. It fully met my expectations and I have read and studied plenty of English literature works. I also now find it far easier to approach academic texts.

How many hours of organised classes do you have per week?

Are your lectures/labs mainly based on or off the main campus?

Is your course weighted more on continuous assessment or end of year exams?

Continuous assessment

What advice would you give to a prospective student interested in this course?

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

Definitely the English side. I'm generally pleased with the choice of literature we get to cover in each period we cover. I like that the English module assignments generally consist of essays but the New Media modules also give a good balance where we study cultural theory and learn to design websites and brochures.

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

The theory can be a bit overwhelming at first but you learn that once you do the weekly readings and discuss them in tutorials it is managable.

If you studied abroad, is there any advice you would give someone looking to study abroad?

I didn't but I benefited from the alternative Erasmus placement where I got to do some extra English and New Media modules and meet more people studying my course from 1st years up to 4th years.
