Why did you choose to study this course?

I liked the idea of being an engineer as it is a profession that is highly skilled, disciplined and well regarded in the professional world. It is based broadly on the concept of problem solving and using creative methods to do so.

Are you happy with your choice of course?

It was a reat choice because it is well constructed, varied and provides a wide base of knowledge and skill to build upon in the years ahead.

How many hours of organised classes do you have per week?

Are your lectures/labs mainly based on or off the main campus?

Is your course weighted more on continuous assessment or end of year exams?

End of year exams

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

I like the mechanical side of things. There are modules mechanics, computing, production technology, electronics, chemistry etc. I like the variety. Also after a while you begin to see overlap between modules and links to their value and usefullness, which is really rewarding

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

There are a few modules with plenty of maths in them, but the real thing to focus on is working away bit by bit at them and eventually it all starts to fit together nicely, well worth putting some time into it.

If you studied abroad, is there any advice you would give someone looking to study abroad?

There are grants available to students wishing to go study in europe. If funding wasn't a poblem it would be a very good opertunity. Thinking about future employment prospects it would bring an international flavour to your CV which would improve your appeal to employers.
