Are you happy with your choice of course?

Yes

Why?

It is a very interesting course that also has the added benefit of allowing you to choose modules other than the typical law ones. This helps make your degree personal to you and allows you to have some control over what you want to learn as part of our course.

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

Its a diverse course, that allows you to taylor subjects to your own personal interests. In addition to the basic law modules you can study languages, economics, maths etc.

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

The assessment is based mostly on the end of year exams which can be very stressfull especially if your not feeling well on the particular day of the exam all your hard work could be lost on one bad day.

What do you wish you had known before choosing this course?

It is a lot of hard work and that most of the work that has to be done depends on your own committment to learning, you have to develop your skills within the course by your own self-learning.

History, English, CSPE (junior certificate).

Library facilities

The library facilties are very good they allow free access to legal databases which we would otherwise have to pay for. There can be a shortage of newer editions of books.

Is there a good social life on your course?

There is a law society within the University that organises social events particularly aimed at Law students, they hold events such as mystery tours and the annual law ball which is always a great sucess. Also within class years there are class parties.

Why do you enjoy being a member of this society? why should a prospective student think of joining this society?

I enjoy it because I get the opportunity to meet other law students in my year and in other years, you get to meet these people outside the classroom in a more relaxed environment. I think students should join it because it can help you adapt more easily to your course because you have the opportunity to talk to people who are doing the same course as you and understand any issues you may have.

Yes it was a brillant experience and I got to meet amazing people and because it was on campus there was no worrys of paying ESB bills or heating bills.
