Why did you choose your course?

I enjoyed languages in secondary but wanted something more concrete than an arts degree. The idea of mixing both languages and IT, which is such an important sector in today’s society seemed the most logical decision as well as being enjoyable.

Are you happy with your choice of course?

On reflection, what made it the right or wrong choice for you?

The very good chance of future employment.

How many hours of organised classes do you have per week? (labs, tutorials, lectures, etc)

Are your lectures/labs mainly based on or off the main campus?

Is your course weighted more on

End of year exams

Is there an option to study abroad on your course?

If you studied abroad, is there any advice you would give someone looking to study abroad?

Properly research the possible modules you can take in the university and think of what you will be studying the following year or what you would of been studying if you had not taken an Erasmus year in order to stay at the same level as your fellow class mates.

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

The sheer change and contrast between CS and languages. Although I now see the subjects coming together it always keeps me on my toes and challenged.

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

That our course is divided between departments who don't exactly cooperated with one another and often give us poor timetables etc.

Was your course what you expected?

What do you wish you had known before choosing this course?

A basis in programming. Some people in pure CS started programming when they were young teenagers.
