Why did you choose your course?

I thought that engineering would provide a broad background and would increase my chances of being able to find employment once my degree had been completed. I also enjoyed Maths and Chemistry in school and so Engineering seemed like a natural progression choice.

Are you happy with your choice of course?

On reflection, what made it the right or wrong choice for you?

I would still choose engineering again if I was given the choice, but the quality of teaching and practical work completed was astonishingly underwhelming. We sad in lectures rote learning formulae, we were not prepared for what happens after college.

How many hours of organised classes do you have per week? (labs, tutorials, lectures, etc)

Are your lectures/labs mainly based on or off the main campus?

Is your course weighted more on

End of year exams

Is there an option to study abroad on your course?

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

Unfortunately the only aspect which was even remotely positive was the predictability of the end of year exams.

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

Lectures on arbitrary subjects, lectures based on completely abstract topics, labs completed which have been repeated by students hundreds of times before. 9 end of year exams etc. The course is irrelevant to what you will encounter after college.

Was your course what you expected?

What do you wish you had known before choosing this course?

I wish I had known how little I would actually gain from this course other than the fact that I could call myself a Trinity College Engineering Graduate.

Opening hours are ridiculously short when compared to other colleges in Ireland. Difficulty in checking out some of the most relevant books (may only apply to engineering).
