Are you happy with your choice of course?

It was not what I expected, is not well organised and there is very little help to ease the jump from secondary to college

How many hours of organised classes do you have per week? (labs, tutorials, lectures, etc)

Are your lectures/labs mainly based on or off the main campus?

Is your course weighted more on

End of year exams

Is there an option to study abroad on your course?

If you studied abroad, is there any advice you would give someone looking to study abroad?

You must attain a good grade in 1st and 2nd year in order to be eligible to study abroad in 3rd year.

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

Sociology, which I only have 2hrs a week =(

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

Economic policy and political science

Was your course what you expected?

What do you wish you had known before choosing this course?

In first year if you do sociology as a TSM subject you must also study political science and economic policy, which I was unaware of on entry to the course. This means that I am made study 2 subjects in which I didn't want to, have no interest in and find difficult and to make matters worse all 3 exams have to be passed for entry to 2nd year even though I won't ever be studying the other 2 again. If you fail one of the three, in repeats you must resit all 3 even if you passed the other 2 the first time.

Helpful leaving cert (or equivalent) subjects?

Home Economics social studies part is helpful. However, no specific subject is required for entry.

Library facilities

Is there a good social life on your course?

Please describe

Compared to my geography side of the course which has around 100 student and we have class nights out etc and other such activities. Due to the vast number of people taking sociology it has led to no real class event etc. There are so many taking it 505 student that there are two set of lectures.

Rate your course in terms of difficulty
