Are you happy with your choice of course?

Yes

Why?

I chose the course because I knew that I wanted to teach music in the secondary school. This degree leaves me qualified to go straight into the school upon completion. It provides with both a solid grounding in music that one would receive in an ordinary music degree while also providing a full teaching qualification.

How many hours of organised classes do you have per week? (labs, tutorials, lectures, etc)

11-15hrs

Are your lectures/labs mainly based on or off the main campus?

Off

If off campus, does this affect you and how?

As I would be quite involved in Trinity at a sporting and societal level, it would be nice to be around the campus more. In first and second we are based more in DIT but in 3rd year it is 50/50 with most lectures being on campus for 4th year.

Is your course weighted more on

Continuous assessment

Is there an option to study abroad on your course?

Yes

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

The small class size means that a lot of individual attention is received as well as the lecturers getting to know you on a personal level, taking a real interest in how you are progressing and being very helpful with regards to any problems that may arise.

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

The weighting of the various modules is not balanced and so sometimes a lot of work is required within one module that has the same number of credits as another module with half the work load. This can be frustrating when trying to justify putting hard work in without the reward.

Was your course what you expected?

Yes

Helpful leaving cert (or equivalent) subjects?

Music

Is there a good social life on your course?

Yes

Please describe

With such a small group it really depends on the effort that is made by the group to socialise together.

Why do you enjoy being a member of this society? why should a prospective student think of joining this society?

There is a great mix of people from all different courses. There is a high level of music taking place in an enjoyable setting. There is a really good social aspect to the society also.

Are you a member of any sports clubs?

Yes

Please choose your sport(s) club

Rowing

Are your training facilities easily accessible?

Yes

Do you feel that you are playing at a standard that matches your ability?

Yes

What would be helpful to know before joining your sports club?

The club caters for students of all abilities with the largest part of the club being people who are new to the sport. As a club it is easy to get involved without having any previous experience.

Would you recommend getting involved in college sport?

It is a great way of getting to know people in Trinity, especially as the course itself is so small in size.
