Why did you choose to study in this college?

Mainly because my best subject was Business in Secondary School. And my career guidance teacher recommended it.

Are you happy with your choice of course?

On reflection, what made it the right or wrong choice for you?

I'm stuck between indifferent and no. In secondary school we were told to just "put something down". It was never emphasized that this was a big decision you were making. Also I have no major interest in the course, it is not something I want to continue with in later life, but I know it will stand to me in future job interviews for example.

How many hours of organised classes do you have per week?

Are your lectures/labs mainly based on or off the main campus?

Is your course weighted more on continuous assessment or end of year exams?

End of year exams

Is there an option to study abroad on your course?

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

There is a 6 month work placement in third year which was interesting and gave me a good idea of the work area I could have delved into. Also some of the aspects like the psychological aspects of marketing are very interesting.

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

Very theory focused, repetitive and frankly boring. It is not something I have any intention of doing a Masters in.

Was your course what you expected?

What do you wish you had known before choosing this course?

I believe in secondary school it should be made clear that this is a big decision to make, and if you are unsure you should take a year out. Every single person in my Leaving Certificate year applied for CAO bar two. A lot less would have if we didn't feel so obliged to have to apply.

They have recently renovated the library and in fairness have put a lot of work into adding resources to make available for students. It now looks like a proper college library, rather than the big classroom it used to resemble.

More than other courses

Are you an active member of any societies?

Are you a member of any sports clubs?

How much do you spend on living every week (going out, food, transport etc.), excluding rent and bills?

Do you or have you lived away from home during college?

How would you recommend this college to a friend?

Yeah, it's a great place to meet new people, have a bit of crack! and still to achieve that will ultimately help you with you career.
