Why did you choose to study in this college?

The close proximity of IT Sligo in relation to where I am from. The broad focus of the course initially with options of specialization in the final year. 5 month work placement, giving us some solid experience before we graduate. Going to an IT allows for more practical learning.

Are you happy with your choice of course?

On reflection, what made it the right or wrong choice for you?

All the opportunities that were given to me as part of the course. I had a fantastic placement in third year and as part of my specialization this year the projects we were assigned gave us the freedom to work with professional bodies and companies eg. designing a digital marketing strategy for Skoda Ireland. I feel the close relationship that the college promotes the student have with the lecturers provided me with a very good and helpful environment in which to learn.

How many hours of organised classes do you have per week?

Are your lectures/labs mainly based on or off the main campus?

Is your course weighted more on continuous assessment or end of year exams?

End of year exams

Is there an option to study abroad on your course?

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

The broad spectrum of subjects covered in 1st -3rd year, allowing for an educated decision when choosing your specialization. The placement opportunity. The fact that its a level 8 course the whole way through, it allows us to develop a high standard of work from the beginning.

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

Lack of option to do a language.

Was your course what you expected?

What do you wish you had known before choosing this course?

That there was no language option.

The new library is fantastic. I love how it allows for silent study and project work. It provides space which we were badly lacking in before. The private rooms allow for meetings and presentation practicing and are exactly what we needed for our course.
