Why did you choose to study in this college?

Well originally I attended the college open day to view a completely different course but when I walked about I got chatting to some of the lecturers of the course and I looked at the work the students were doing and I got very excited and intigued about the course.

Are you happy with your choice of course?

On reflection, what made it the right or wrong choice for you?

I think the course just suits who I am and the way I work. I love the fact that the course is very practical and hands on. I have made some great contacts with companies I have worked with through the course and I think it is these contacts which will prove critical when searching for a job when I get my degree.

How many hours of organised classes do you have per week?

Are your lectures/labs mainly based on or off the main campus?

Is your course weighted more on continuous assessment or end of year exams?

Continuous assessment

Is there an option to study abroad on your course?

If you studied abroad, is there any advice you would give someone looking to study abroad?

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

I love the fact that alot of our work is aimed towards a real life company and we get to meet the company and present our ideas and work to them.

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

I find that at some times there are not enough lecturers to cover the amount of students in the course. The course is very hands on and requires continuous communication with the lecturers, a lack of this communication can cause your work to run late or not reach the standard that I would like.

Was your course what you expected?

What do you wish you had known before choosing this course?

I don't think I needed to know much more about the course when I entered as I feel majority of my concerns were entered on the open day when I was talking to the lecturers.

I think the changes made to the library in the last year are tremendous!! The seperation between the quieter upstairs and the downstairs works brilliantly as the downstairs area allows for group work, which I would be involved in alot. The printing facilities in the library are good, however maybe there needs to be one or two more printers.

Rate your course in terms of difficulty

Neither Easy nor Difficult

Please rate your course in terms of workload

More than other courses

Are you an active member of any societies?

Are you a member of any sports clubs?

How much do you spend on living every week (going out, food, transport etc.), excluding rent and bills?

Do you or have you lived away from home during college?

How much does your rent cost per month?

As a first year did you live in college halls?

If yes, where and why?

Beechwood Court, the houses are very good while being close to college. Make sure to have a good landlord and most importantly easy going and friendly house mates.

How would you recommend this college to a friend?

Although I have criticized many things I did learn a lot, I was just frustrated at time with the lack of interest from others in their students. I have made loads of new friends and have met very important people that could prove vital in the future when some advice will be needed. Most lecturers are approachable as if they are your friends and always willing to help.
