Why did you choose your course?

I chose Biomedical science in Sligo as the course offered a great choice of science and computer based subjects. As employment in this area is unaffected by the recession, it was also a reason to choose this course.

Are you happy with your choice of course?

On reflection, what made it the right or wrong choice for you?

It was right as I was close to home which on reflection, helped me stay focussed on my studies, and also offered me the choice to have nights out. The people at Sligo IT are really nice and engaging also, and the lecturers also have more time for individuals.

How many hours of organised classes do you have per week? (labs, tutorials, lectures, etc)

Are your lectures/labs mainly based on or off the main campus?

If off campus, does this affect you and how?

Is your course weighted more on

Continuous assessment

Is there an option to study abroad on your course?

I don't know

If you studied abroad, is there any advice you would give someone looking to study abroad?

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

I really enjoy the atmosphere of my class as we all know each other, and it is also so easy to speak with the lecturers or ask them any questions and they give you so much time in giving the answer.

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

My course is continuous assessment based, so no matter how much work you put in during the year, it all pools together at the last week of each semester. With writing up lab books, and lab tests, and class tests, it can be quite stressful.

Was your course what you expected?

What do you wish you had known before choosing this course?

That the level 8 medical biotechnology is the same course, I'm level 7 so I'll have to do well in exams this year to qualify for 4th, when i had enough points for level 8.

It sligo recently had the library redone, with 3 levels, one for group work and 2 for quiet study.

Is there a good social life on your course?
