Why did you choose to study this course?

I thought it was very open-ended and allowed me to pick what I wanted to do.

Are you happy with your choice of course?

On reflection, what made it the right or wrong choice for you?

Doing German has ruined my chances of getting a good degree and possibly doing a Master's which doesn't concern German at all. If I could do it all again, I would avoid it.

How many hours of organised classes do you have per week?

Are your lectures/labs mainly based on or off the main campus?

Is your course weighted more on continuous assessment or end of year exams?

End of year exams

Is there an option to study abroad on your course?

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

Doing political/urban geography and planning. German history/politics.

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

German language and literature.

Was your course what you expected?

What do you wish you had known before choosing this course?

I wish I knew how difficult German was going to be.

I have had very few problems in getting books. Once you're early, there shouldn't be any issue.

Is there a good social life on your course?

Please describe

Since it is such a large course, there is a good chance to be sociable, even for those who don't feel they are. You get to meet people from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds.

Are you an active member of any societies?

Are you a member of any sports clubs?

How much do you spend on living every week (going out, food, transport etc.), excluding rent and bills?

Do you or have you lived away from home during college?

How would you recommend this college to a friend?

It really depends on what you study but looking at the bigger picture, the majority of people I have been friends with have had a positive experience attending UCD. I have had a positive experience but the advice I would give is don't be afraid to change something in your course if its deemed unsuitable by you.
