Why did you choose your course?

I chose this course because I wanted to do something that involved people. The two core subjects of Social Science that I chose to focus on are sociology and social policy, both of which are based around people and society and the laws and welfare systems that are in place. You are also free to choose extra credits in subjects that aren't specifically to do with the course which makes it interesting as well.

Are you happy with your choice of course?

On reflection, what made it the right or wrong choice for you?

I think it was the right choice for me as there isnt too many hours of classes per week and it is only a 3 year course. There is also the option to go on Erasmus in third year.

How many hours of organised classes do you have per week? (labs, tutorials, lectures, etc)

Are your lectures/labs mainly based on or off the main campus?

If off campus, does this affect you and how?

Is your course weighted more on

Continuous assessment

Is there an option to study abroad on your course?

If you studied abroad, is there any advice you would give someone looking to study abroad?

I did not study abroad.

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

I like that the year is small enough, and that there is a class rep to help with any queries and also to organise social events in order to get the class to know each other better!

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

As with any course, there is a decent amount of work over the year, but other than that i dont have too many complaints!

Was your course what you expected?

What do you wish you had known before choosing this course?

Nothing really.

It is a great size with plenty of room for study and a big array of books but at times there might only be one copy of a core book which 150 people need so this can be difficult.

Is there a good social life on your course?

Please describe

At least every one to two weeks there is a night out organised for the year. There is also a football tournament between the different years on the course.
