Why did you choose to study in this college?

I did accounting in the leaving cert and was very good at it, and I wanted a course that allowed me to study French with it, from my research DCU was the only college with an accounting course that gave a language option!

Are you happy with your choice of course?

On reflection, what made it the right or wrong choice for you?

I think it was the right choice for me because the course modules are all relative to the course but also very broad, so by doing modules such as commercial law or French, it gave a feel of what they are like. It gives the student an opportunity to think of whether they picked the right course. I enjoyed doing French as it was a break and a different type of learning than the other modules

How many hours of organised classes do you have per week?

Are your lectures/labs mainly based on or off the main campus?

Is your course weighted more on continuous assessment or end of year exams?

End of year exams

Is there an option to study abroad on your course?

What are your favourite aspects of your course?

All lecturers and tutorial teachers are very helpful, I like the language option

What are your least favourite aspects of your course?

My least favourite aspect would be the group work assignments, there’s always problems with people not showing up to organised meetings, people not doing their work and I’d say that the assignment could be done quicker if done alone

What do you wish you had known before choosing this course?

I wish I had known what the course was made up of e.g., the modules, the assignments, and the way that most assignments involve group work

They are excellent, could always find a free computer when needed, however during assignment and exam times it was often difficult to get a book I needed

Rate your course in terms of difficulty

Please rate your course in terms of workload

More than other courses

Are you an active member of any societies?

If yes, please name the societies

But never go to any as I have a 2hour commute each way to get to college

Are you a member of any sports clubs?

How much do you spend on living every week (going out, food, transport etc.), excluding rent and bills?

Do you or have you lived away from home during college?

How would you recommend this college to a friend?

I would advise them if they could, to live on campus or nearby as if they have a long commute, everything is harder, such as keeping on top of your workload, going out on nights out with the class and clubs and socs
